Red & Moonpie Kidded

Well, those that remember Moonpie she is preggers again. Her estimated due date was 1 week ago. We've had her penned up for 2 weeks now with hay and grain access 24/7.

As of today her belly is seemingly smaller, could be because she's dropped. Though her bags are big, and almost saggy in nature. Her girl parts are not swollen like I'd expect. She's just confusing the heck out of me. She should have kidded a week ago. And of course I'm due to go out of town Thursday and not return until Sunday. This would be good goat math on when she's decide to kid.

No ultrasound or blood test was done to confirm pregnancy. I'm really just on here for opinions if anyone has dealt with a false pregnancy before? She is of good mood, eating and drinking the same and no fever. She's just boggling me!!

If not, by looking at udders any ideas?

In my very limited experience, that doesn't look like a "normal fill udder"... Could she just be precocious? Wish I had more to offer you...

Well she was indeed preggers. 2 healthy boys.

Red also did great, delivered 2 healthy girls. She delivered a breach still born boy, I was unable to get him turned to his bag breaking. Just happy that 2 out of 3. They were all born 24 hours apart. Both moms are doing great. We were bale to get Moonpie milked down to where they can nurse now Red is doing great, just like last time. Though last time she only had 1 kid, this time 3!! Quite the surprise for us.

They are adorable! Sorry about one who didn't make it but we all know those unfortunate events happen any time you raise livestock.

A few photos from over the weekend. They got some outside time, even though as much rain as we got the last few days was crazy. The sun finally came out for a bit. The boys are just as handsome as ever, and the little black and white girl might just have become my favorite. She's the runt and just such a sweetheart. She has the best coloring too. I'll have to get some better photos.
