I'm sure most of us have been there, running out of food and can't get it until the next day! So what would be good substitute(s) for the rabbits to eat while you wait to get food? I think this would be good for future reference just in case anything like this happens, because life doesn't always go as planned! :)

If I know I am running out of my purchased food and can't get to the feed store, I cut all rations in half or even 3rds depending on How long before I can get some more then I just bump up what ever I have the most of. So if I am running out of grain then I just make sure they have plenty of hay.

We don't feed our rabbits purchased feed this time of year, anyway, but I would just pile in a bunch of grass and weeds, or add extra hay.

Ofcourse veggies from the kitchen,

Pet stores and even places like Wal Mart have small bags of food that can get you by for a couple of days. They can also get by for a day or so with just hay but you may get the bunny cold shoulder from them.

Virginia is for Pasture Farmers!
I stuff the cage with freshly pulled mixed grasses every 2 days or so. Don't worry about pellets. Hay is also stuffed in the racks. My bigger issue is water, but the grass takes care of that.
