My uncle has about an acre of turnip planted across the street from my house. I have been feeding my rabbits, chickens and goat greens for a few weeks now. I got to wondering if my rabbits could have the turnip too. Anyone know? Also, is it safe to give my rabbits the greens daily? They are REALLY excited to see me walk in the barn with an arm full of greens.

I would THINK turnips would be fine, in moderation.

Sometimes too many treats can give them the runs.

The more experienced should chime in at any time. :)

You can feed turnip greens, lots of folks do. Just not too much at once...

Go easy till they develop the right intestinal bacteria to handle them. Too much of either the mustard family (as turnip greens are) or the cabbage family (Cabbage, collards, kale etc.) can cause gas and rabbits can neither pass gas or belch so it could cause cramps.
