We give safeguard 1 cc per 10 lbs.
You need to weigh him and give the right dose. If it were me, I would round up. Meaning if he is 15lbs, I would give 2cc.
Give 3 days straight, that's very important.

Definitely don't skip the fecal.
At his age cocci is still a big concern and dewormers do nothing for cocci. Also knowing what kind of parasites you are dealing with is important. The efficacy is also important.

We never round up as the 1cc to 10 lbs is already off label and triple the dose. Although it is one of the safest dewormers on the market. I just wanted to mention that some dewormers can be very potent and dangerous if dosing isn't accurate.

I always round up with safeguard.
With adults we do more than that.

Someone mentioned Prohibit the other day, can't remember who.
You definitely don't want to give too much of that stuff.

I thought you said he was 5-6 months.

There are several products on the market - all off label but each used differently by whetehr there is active disease or as prevention.
Giving livestock meds when you do not know if they even need it or not is not a good start in owning goats.

Giving this then that and if your load is high on either end and you start having bleed out or the rumin shuts down then what?

Giving some meds together can cause other issues.
