Patches was wormed 10 days ago. She developed green scours about a week ago and we can't seem to get a handle on it. She was out on pasture for about 2 days, and we thought that's what has caused it. She's back in the barnyard and being fed our ewe feed and hay again. Still scouring after treatments of probios and the charcoal stuff which I can't remember what it's called. She seems to be eating and drinking okay, she's just still scouring.

Anybody have any other treatment ideas?

sulfa tablets.

or sometimes we use the terrimycin tablets.

what's causing it? stress. Probably was from the grass, and now you took her in the barnlot and started feeding grain= which didn't help any.

put her to grass hay for a day or 2. and then go back to grain.

Okay thanks guys. I am going to just feed her hay for a while and no grain. I'm definitely overfeeding my sheep. The ones on grain are getting fat.

Bio-sponge is the stuff we used. So we were just out there cleaning up Patches and noticed Lottie was pooping out gooey stuff too. Lottie was the only one we didn't worm 10 days ago because she was being a pain in the butt, like bottle babies sometimes are. So lo and behold! There were a whole bunch of tape worms that came out of her. OMG gross! Long ones. So does that mean they are dead when they come out?

In any event, we just gave them a dose of Valbazin. I think DH used Ivermectin last time.

you should stick to one or two types of dewormers and use them until they know longer work. helps retard resistance.

I know I will be punished by the mods for this but you need to take it down a notch. You are never nice, encourage others, give helpful information, or even speak to others the way they should be spoken to. I know I am not the only one who thinks this. Instead of fighting why not give something helpful for them to consider? We are all here to help not bash and make people feel stupid. You, nor do any of us, know everything and that is why we are here. Lets help each other. So please be just a bit kinder and treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. Is that how you would want to be talked to?

aww Straw Hat, please don't get in trouble on my behalf. Yes, KFacres certainly has an abrupt and straightforward, albeit a bit condescending style to their posts. I have also seen it before and I am sure others do not appreciate that style. But, I can take what he (he? or she?) has to offer and discard the rest of the tone of his posts.

Yes I am a newbie, and many others on here are. We are looking for helpful advice. kfacres has a lot of good advice to offer, if he would just do it in a supportive instead of demeaning way it would be so much more valuable. Thanks to everyone here for all I have learned, in whatever fashion it was doled out, lol.

No, no. I am not doing that for just you. I am doing it on behalf of all BYH members who is tired of her or him doing this. Why not be just a bit nicer. If he or she has good advice, which I'm sure he or she does, then we would be happy to have it, but not in that way.

I'm guessing you mis-interpreted my last sentence.

You should have read it like this: it helps prevent resistance that certain species of worms can develop, if you use every kind of dewomer available... or atleast that's what the experts say.

As far as being treated by others, I want to be told something in as few of words as possible, with the most accurate description that one can come up with, and not fill that response full of fluffy, feelgood words. I don't have all day to sit around reading books, I want to know what I want to know- in as quickly of a time, and an easy of a fashion as it takes. Quick and to the point, plain and simple.
