I have a friend who owns a landscaping company and he is done for the season...he has lots and lots of bails of seagrass straw left over from the season and asked if we wanted it for "free" to use for extra bedding. I always get regular straw so Im a little unsure about seagrass straw?

Never used seagrass straw...I think it should be fine. My concern would be poisoning. My guys dont eat anything off the ground per se..but I am talking about goats here!!

Just looking for any input..if anyone knows??? I looked it up..no info found??

Thanks,
Becky

Its just a thinner and softer straw they use around here for seeding lawns etc...its from the fields and dried marshes around the coast up here.

I just dont want to poison them cuz I didnt do my homework...free is great and all..but not when it kills the herd...

Thanks anyway...I'll keep looking.
