I worked on the roof until noon. Hot. Sentry was in the house, in a dog crate. Snoozing, enjoying the AC, not a care in the world. I came in, took a shower, ate a sandwich and got ready to go pick up metal for the roof. Let Sentry out to potty and called him to the gate to put him in the field while I was gone.
Uhhh……. NOPE!

Sentry isn’t doing so good. He vomited up his supper last night and night before. I’m feeding him in the house where it’s cool. I put him out for the night around 7or 8.
This morning I fed him a little chicken, rice with broth. Fresh cold water, he drank several times and ran the field with Buford and Sheba. He hasn’t puked it up, at least not while I was watching. This heat has been hard on him. He’s in the house, in the crate. I’ll take him out to potty but he’s staying inside until evening.

I think starting tomorrow I’ll feed all the dogs in the morning.

Hoping he feels better soon.

Tonight he ate a small piece of chicken and drank the broth, so I gave him more broth. Put him in the field, then got Sheba and Buford from the front yard. We went walking. At the pond, Sentry struck a trail and nose down, followed it to his nemesis—you guessed it—a turtle.

He went into his hysterical turtle mode….. hey! What happened to that puny sickly dog? He figured out how to turn it sideways so he could pick it up! He wouldn’t let me have it. He crunched the turtle. I chased him around and finally went for a bucket. He ran, I ran. He put it down and I put the bucket on it, scooped it up and put it over the fence.

Way to go you dummy. Puking up your food, refusing to eat chicken, but trying to eat a turtle! Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I should have let him have it. Maybe he finally found something he wanted to eat.
