Right now all my rabbits are using bowls because they are pretty pouty about having to use a bottle. I change the water 2x a day. My question is, should I provide a different kind of bowl for my doe when her kits emerge from the nest box? The concern is that they will fall into the bowl or water and chill or drown. Anyone have any advice?

I have never had a problem with kits falling in a bowl and drowning. By the time they are big enough to climb out of the nest box they are big enough to jump out of the bowl if they get in it. I have found kit poop in my water bowl before so I know they have gotten in there at some time. I should add that I do use larger bowls for nursing mothers with kits as they can go thru a lot overnight when they do most of their eating. I believe my big ez crocks hold a quart and some mornings there isn't much left in them. Hope this helps, good luck with your litter.

Thanks for that, it's good to know! The mom has started drinking a whole bunch because of her milk production, so I know with her and the growing babies hopping around they'll be drinking up a whole bunch of water daily. I've put a bigger bowl in there, but really sounds like I'll need one that's even bigger.
