I have a question on when the first shearing should be done on a pygora goat and what is the latest in the year (say Nov) can then be shorn (sp?)

This is one of my young bucks born in July, his hair is about 6" long, not sure if i should wait til spring or do him during the next sunny spell

I don't know about goats but I wouldn't shear an alpaca at this time of year. The growth wouldn't be fast enough to keep them warm in the winter. I guess it would depend on where you live. I'm in Ohio and it can get pretty cold.

That has to be the sweetest looking goat I have ever seen. I would not sheer this time of year, but would wait until March/April and in some parts of the country May.

I dont shear my pysgora's after september, but if one is getting to look like they may mat up i will clip out that area. I do run a comb thur to get out knots as well, they do stay in most of winter cause they hate getting wet:th and we live in washington land of rain :):barnie

Yeah, I'd really think now is too cold to shear. I would just give him a really thorough combing.
