My goat just kidded yesterday so when would be a good time to worm her? I have Ivomec Plus (cattle injectable) but I'd give that to her 1 cc per 33 lbs orally, correct? Also, when does she need her next CDT shot? She received her last CDT a month before she kidded. Should I give her more selenium/vitamin E? She also received her last dosage of that last month.

As for the babies, I won't need to worm them for awhile, right? And when will they need their CDT vaccination? When should I give them selenium/vitamin E?

Thank you

Mama Goat - If this was her first time getting CDT vaccination then she'll need a booster at 3-4 weeks after the last shot you gave. I would deworm with Ivomec post kidding within 48 hours generally (dosage will vary by area...here we need around 1 ml / 25#) Giving more Selenium / Vitamin will depend on her condition, if she's doing fine she won't need any more right now.

Kids - Since you gave mom her CDT within 6 wks of kidding then the kids would get their first dose around 3-4 wks of age with a booster 3-4 wks after that. I don't consider deworming kids until they start eating pasture and then only if they show symptoms. The one thing you may want to consider treating for is coccidia at around 3 weeks of age. More info here: http://www.backyardherds.com/web/viewblog.php?id=2607-coccidia-goat They will only need selenium / vit E if they show signs of being weak generally...since you dosed mom prekidding they should be fine.
