This is part of a local ad I saw in the "Rabbits for Sale" category:

"...the mother is a Nether-land Dwarf or a Mini Rex and the Father is a Flemish Giant...."

". . . and the owner is so totally clueless, they hardly know one end of a rabbit from the other, let alone one breed from another. Take it as read that these rabbits are unidentifiable mutts, and buying them is done at your peril."

I'm surprised that rabbit survived the birth and kinda curious if the mother survived the birth. Ouch!

The breeder doesn't know the difference between a ND and a MR, so I suspect the doe was neither. But you CANNOT breed a 2 lb doe to a 12 lb buck, so I highly doubt the buck's identification, too - I think they looked at some pictures, and said, "that looks sort of like the same color, so he's probably a Flemish Giant.":th
