Now that spring is here, I'm planning on moving the rabbit hutch from our unheated porch to our fenced in back yard, where it was in the fall.

I'd really like to give the hutch a thorough cleaning when it's outside and I can get it wet and have it dry in the sun.

What can I use to clean the wood she's inadvertently peed on, and the wire floor? I'm kind of afraid to use bleach or anything toxic.

Thanks!

Diluted bleach water is fine to use, as long as you rinse it off well and dry it well.

If the wire floor can be separated from the wood, I like a propane torch for removing (burning off) any hair, and for sterilizing the wire. Just rinse it and let it cool before putting your rabbit back, of course!

Otherwise, I hear a stiff wire brush is good for removing all the junk that can accumulate on wire. Never tried it, but people here who give good advice have said it's good to use.

Fresh air and sunlight do a lot of cleaning all on their own. Thoroughly drying in the sunlight is about as good as it gets for drying.
