My English Angora doe seems to have these mood swings. She's on antibiotics, so I have to take her out of her hutch 3 times a day. She just went through a cycle of a couple of weeks where she would make a squeaky wheezing grunting sound every time I came near the hutch and bite and box at me. I had to use thick winter gloves to pick her up.

Now today, she's being sweet again, letting me take her out of the hutch and running around my feet. That's when I noticed it. When she's nice, she's stinky. When she gets nasty again, the stink goes away. I think it has to be some hormonal thing where she's emitting phermones. What do you all think? Anyone have experience with this?

Rabbits have their moods. Both male and females do. I have two males who will want you to give them attention and the next day just as long as you give them water and food, they could care if you were there. It's just the animal. And regarding the smell, I haven't smelled anything. They haven't figured out spraying yet. :celebrate And when I hold them, they smell more like hay than anything else since I clean their crate everyday.

Since you said your angora was on antibotics, maybe there is a smell to that? Or the sickness she has and has to be take the antibiotics?

And regarding emmitting hormone smells, I think that's more a goat thing. You should read some of the posts about males and their "love" odors.

Any animal can stink at times, but we can't help it, we :love our Animals!

BTW, how's the bunny doing? Hope she is feeling well.
