We are taking my daughter's Nubians tomorrow to be bred. The girls are now 8 months old, very healthy and hearty. What questions should we ask? The woman that owns the bucks is a very good breeder, and has awesome lines (she loved our does at the State Fair and says she can add so much to our great looking girls). Since the girls have never had babies before and we aren't sure how their udders will develop, should I ask to see any does she might have that are from a particular buck to try and picture the udder structure on the kids?

Also, would it be best for us to take our own grain and hay down? Would the girls be all right for 3 weeks on just grain?

My first question would be why breed so young.. to me 8 months still may be a bit on the immature side.. despite the height.. I would give them a bit more to develop if possible.. I don't breed anything until at least year old preferrably 1.5
