I have not used that brand or a revolving head. I have a Stone that I bought used. If you buy the revolving head make sure you buy the extra letters and numbers for your herd tattoo as sometimes those will also be used in the year tattoo. I am thinking of buying another set of pliers so I have them ready for doing multiple goats.

I can see some advantages.
We need two as it is.... one for a permanent farm tattoo letters and the second just for the year letter and number.
On the revolving you will still have to change out the number as each kid has their own. But better than having to buy two and still have to swap out over and over.

I do love the ear release though. Although on the tail webs we still end up having to pull off the tail.

I think so.

I did not look to see... what size are the letters and numbers?
The kit I have for my kikos I would never use on my dwarfs of my Lamancha tail webs! OUCH... those letters/numbers are HUGE!

My goat friend has this and another set with a non-revolving head and they both work equally well. The release is nice. We actually don't usually use the revolving head- but we were doing a mish mash of goats that didn't all have the same herd tattoo.

We have been using a human tattoo gun on Lamancha tails for a few years. It works SO much better and lasts a long time. Plus- the USDA/AG people at fairs LOVE it because they can see it from 3 feet away. Judges too! We haven't found it to be worth the trouble for ears. It's nice, but it's hard to do well in ears with wiggly babies and the advantages aren't as great. She accidentally broke a Lamancha tail with the tattoo clamp years ago- so that was the reason for initially trying something else.
