If any of you are interested in dairy cattle, I recently came across a tank with many units of 30-40 year old Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and maybe some other bulls' semen. I even have three bulls in amps.

I'm looking to sell all of it, and thought that some of you who have interest to do it yourself- might have interest in trying this stuff out. I figure many of you are 'heritage' at heart, and I would personally think that this stuff would be a little more 'heritage' than the genetics of today.

For a complete listing-- atleast as far as I know what I have-- email me direct, or PM.

THis is not a for sale ad- more so a disscussion of old genetics-- so don't move it to the classifieds.

Be sure to have a vet test it for fertility. Sometimes people let old tanks go without liquid N for a short time and the semen is ruined. It would be safest to have it tested.

.
The tank is good, as is the semen. The tank has been used on a weekly bases for the last 30 years.

In case I didn't say- if I cannot sell this semen-- it's going back home to breed our cows.

 I have this picture in my mind of a mad scientist creating a bovine version of a hairless Mexican dog and shipping the semen world wide, laughing with manic glee as he pictures everyone's surprise 91/2 months later.:gig

One of the Holstein bull's I have is I-O-State Chief Ford--- perhaps one of the top 5 most popular Holstein bull's in the history of the breed. Another bull of wide popularity as well, plus many sons of Elevation-- perhaps the most popular bull in the breed.

Let us know how he makes out with it
He didn't know what he would do with it- other than research it. He said he had heard of both bulls, but both were before his time in getting serious in the breed. I asked what he'd give for it- and I said I'll take that. At least, it's better than taking it home to use on my hard breeder cows.

The rest of this batch of semen, minus the Ford- is headed home to be in the dairy tank on Monday.

Royd, you never mind this dairy stuff. Your mission is to find RTG Red Belted Galloway semen so she can blow her FIL's mind with his first Mutant Striped Hairy Hereford.:D
