Ok my girls are due Feb 22nd. I'm pretty sure Elle will kid before then. She has really dropped and her ligaments are almost gone. Does she look like she will kid soon? I'm a newbie :)

This is Elle and I think she will kid before my other doe Josie

Pretty does. I love their markings.

I'd say you probably still have 3-4 weeks left on them. Around the 22nd sounds about right. Her udder hasn't gone kaboom yet and she'll get a bit more loose in the girlie bits.

Wow I can't imagine how bit they would be in 3-4 weeks!! LOL. Thank you! So even though the ligaments have really loosened up they still have time left, Is that normal, I read they should kid within 24 hours of the ligaments being gone. I guess every Doe is different though!

I kept feeling for Elsie's ligs, and thought they were gone a couple times. When they actually did go, it is a whole different feeling. There will be no doubt in your mind, even if you have never felt it before, that they are really gone. Good luck :pop

I was thinking the same thing. I have never checked ligaments, so I really have no idea about that, but I did this time for the first year check some ligs and I have had a doe for the past 5 days know feel like she has no ligs, ofcourse I have no idea what I am doing with that. I always go by overall look, udder filling, vulva loosening, belly dropping and their attitude.

I have to do that as well. I still check ligaments, but I have a doe you can feel ligs on 1 day, then they disappear, and then come back.

Elsie's ligs came and went for 2 weeks, but when they went the last time about 3 hours before she kidded, there was NO doubt they were gone. It was a totally different feel than it had before.
