Woke up this morning to one of the little male pigs with a swollen sheath, yellow discharge from the tip pf it, and possibly a low grade temp - can't get him still long enough to get a reading, but he is a tad warm to the touch for sure, and appeared to be dribbling urine at one point, not a steady for sure stream, just a leakage of pee...IS A UTI POSSIBLE? WHAT TO DO? PENICILLIN? UTI was my first thought...can't find much online yet...

OF COURSE my freaking vet is closed on Mondays, and I have left a message with the emergency service, but what do you want to bet I don't hear back in a hurry?

He is isolated in a dog crate, is not hesitant to eat or drink, and seems to be doing fine judging by the hard time I had getting him to hold still and attempt a temperature check....he wasn't having any of that business and is content to be left alone to eat his breakfast finally and I think slightly peeved about the wait and being isolated in the shed in a crate...

Any advice helps! Never had one get sick yet - he is still intact and has had no other issues yet, eyes are clear and bright, no other funk, no rash, etc...just the issues with the pee pee and it's screaming UTI to me at this point...

Thank you :) No word from the vet today, went ahead and hit the little guy with some penicillin, will keep it up too...seems to be just fine...hopefully it's nothing but the stress of a new home wearing on him...I know critters often don't handle moves very well, and he has had a VERY big week...thanks again for the well wishes :) Keeping my fingers crossed too...maybe the vet will call me tomorrow and have some wisdom to shed on it for me, she's usually pretty good and that makes it hard to get a hold of her sometimes!
