I've made some soft goat milk cheese, and I am wondering if anyone can suggest a use for the whey?

Thanks in advance!

What other animals do you have? You can feed it back to the chickens and pigs.

I believe that you can sprout grains in it to feed to a variety of animals.

Use it to make ricotta cheese.

Someone once told me you can use it as a "pre-rinse" to your hair once a month and then shampoo. Said it strengthens and supplies nutrients to the hair. I've never tried this one, so I can't back it with personal experience...but hey if you wanna try it.

I'm sure that there are other uses as well...

You can use it for lactic acid fermentation I think but I've never done it.

I have baked with it in place of milk (I cut it 1/2 and 1/2 with whole milk) Made ricotta. Fed it to the dogs, chickens and pigs.

You can read more about whey and the health benefits of using it to soak grains and ferment veggies on this site: www.westonapricefoundation.org

A bunch of us over on the sister site, sufficientself, do lots with whey....take a look at the fermenting thread over there.
