Need to move my guys down to their new home. I tried the wheel barrow approach :hu not a good idea. I figured, after talking to a breeder, a muzzle and walking them is a good option. When I did my first attempt, and it got loose. She just walked back to me looking for food like a dog. Could I just let them loose one by one? There are 2 skiddish ones so probably not those. The other 2 would probably follow food for the 100 yards to the new pen. They are 13 weeks and Strong.

This is a tough question to answer without knowing your particular pigs and property. My pigs will follow the food bucket, but I am not sure just how far they would go before they got side tracked. On my farm it would not be a big deal if they wandered about if the plan didn't work out. If it isn't too far, and leading them doesn't work, try making a temporary ally with step in posts and electric string. You can get a small portable charger for $20.00 which will work fine for the time it will take for them to get themselves moved.

thanks for the info. I have alot of spare wood around. Im in the process of getting a charger. I could just run an ally for the time being to get them down there, then take it down. They really dont "take off" so maybe skip a meal or make it late and have them follow me might work. The two smaller are skiddish so maybe the ally will be better for them all.
