Hello all... not sure if I put this in the right place but anywho...

So next week some time my two 9 month old Kune kune gilts are arriving at my place IM SO EXCISTED!!! I already have their small temporary holding yard ready for them with shelter and all that jazz, but I had one quick question Im just not sure what I should use for a water trough? I dont really have anything yet thats heavy enough for them not to root over and spill. I do have rubber pans that I could easily wash, refill, crake that ice out of and such do you think that will work for now, until I get something a lil more permanent in place?

Thanks much Kate

I've been told 55 gallon barrels work great for pigs. Sliced in half lengthwise as feed troughs. Sliced height wise in 3rds for water discard the center from water section (or find another use for it).

Pigs love to wallow, play, drink etc in their water! Where our pigs do not have pond access we use the 15 gallon rubber bowls that are pretty much indestructible.

Enjoy your new piggies :)
