Well I think that my Rosie has been talking to Annie over at BlueMoon Farms. Last week she was moaning and groaning and lady parts got real "puffy" everything said stay close kids are on the way. Kits and supplies were checked and made sure everyine knew where they were and what they would need to do spent extra time with her everything. Then on inspection this morning everything was normal, puffiness gone, eating like we would never feed her agin ect. I just know someone went out there are read her the doe code. :he Then there is Bea, breed at the some time looking at her you can see that she has babies in there and no changes in behavior or lady parts or anything. If you had not seen her before breeding you would just see a fat goat. I'm thinking that when she is ready she will pop them out like nothing every happened.

**eta might as well turn this into a kidding thread beecause at some point she has to kid. I will take and post pics tonight

I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I know my doe actually looked less swollen right before she kidded, I think what happend was the rest of her....parts were swelling, making others appear smaller again. She ate her grain, hay and grass most of the day she had her babies, she had them at 8:30 that evening. I knew she was going to because she would lay down, get up, pant, stretch lay down, etc, that went on for like 4 hours.

I personally have never noticed any difference in any of our goats "girly" parts. Usually see the mucous plug dishcharge, but that is sometimes a couple weeks before they kid.

And never really any "pawing" or carrying on like that. I have known some to get "moody" last couple weeks.

Nothing tells better than the "ligament" test, on top of knowing exactly when they are bred.

Coleus was bred Halloween night. We had her due last Wed based on our experience of 147 days +/- a day for our N.D's.

On queue, her ligaments were gone Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday, go out at 12:30pm she was laying on the ground, chewing her cud.

Went back out at 1:00pm and there were 4 babies on the ground.

That's the way I like it, one minute no sign, 30 minutes later you go back and they are already born. Takes the stress out like that.

I wish that I had made a note of the jail break so that I could pin down a due date. But I have learned from that and made a note on the calender about last weeks jail break. I have good gates and fences execpt when the children froget to lock everything up. In the last week she has been vocal a little bit which is not normal for her, she hardly ever makes any noise. I have seen heavy breathing and heard lots of grunts and moans. At this point I figure that she will have them when I am not ready for it, i.e. at work, eating, sound asleep and that as soon as I know she is in labor or has babies on the ground I will get out there as fast as I can.

ok I give up :he Got called home from work because mom was sure that she was going to go soon. Did she no of course not. SO I sat outside with her only going inside twice, sitting there until I was too cold and stiff to move. Then about half an hour ago she started calling to the herd and as soon as I let them in she settled right down like nothing happened. I have decided that no more rushing home from any where until someone can see a head/front hoofs on the way out. I afraid if I come home any soon she will change her mind and suck them right back in. :rant

So no babies in sight. No signs that they are comming any time soon. This morning all was quite and she was running and jumping around. I think yesteraday was just an late april fools joke. :he :he Now I just have to find a way to stop stressing about it and let nature take it's course.
