I have an angus heifer I wanna get bred. Should she be about 12 months old or older?

We put a bull out with ours at around 14 months. I know some guys who do it sooner and some later. Also depends upon when you want her to calve.
We start the middle of march.

It also helps to know the history of the heifer's "parents", and that of the bull you will be using. Has the heifer's momma and her sisters calved easily? How big are the bull's calves? And, how heavy is the bull you will be using? Is the heifer in good physical shape at the time you want her bred? These are not crucial have-to-know things but they should be considered when deciding when to start a heifer off on the road to "family life" so to speak.

I currently have a 12 month old beefmaster heifer that has already been in heat at least once, but I intend to wait till she is closer to 2 yrs old before putting her with a bull, because she is physically small for her age.

Older. She should be 15 months of age and/or around 60 to 65% of her dam's body weight (or of the average cow-herd's weight where you got her from) in order to breed her.
