Hello! So, I’ve had these two Nigerian dwarf does for almost 3 years now and I’ve never really been able to figure out their colorings. They are mom and daughter and we don’t really know anything about their pedigree, so I was hoping you guys could help me out.
This is Maycee, the mother. She is registered with AGS as a broken buckskin but I’m not so sure. Her cape doesn’t look long enough, she actually barely has a cape at all.
(I barely have any pictures of her, but..)
This is Reven, the daughter, also registered with AGS as a broken buckskin. But again, her cape isn’t all that big.
Here is a kid that Reven had, Sparrow, we sold her a while back, she has similar markings but with less white.
They almost look like chamoisees, but without the dark bellies. I’ve been thinking buckskin/chamoisee combo? But I’m not sure.
Any thoughts are appreciated!
Edit: so I did a little more research and now I’m thinking maybe bezoar? I’ve never really considered it because it’s a lot less common than buckskin or chamoisee, but I think Sparrow looks almost identical to a bezoar. She doesn’t have the black line on the belly, but I’ve seen pictures of bezoars without that black line too.
Here are some pictures of the bezoar pattern.
