I've heard of mini pigs but what miniature breeds of pigs are in the us? Do they go by the same care as the average outside pigs? Meaning are they okay with just a enclosed shelter? or do they require *special* heated housing? Just curious as pot belly pigs are still Very Large.

The way I learned it many years ago, like 15, anything under 100 lbs is miniature. I breed and raise kunekune/guinea hog crosses and potbelly/juliana crosses. They range in size from 20 to 65 lbs. Average weight is 40 lbs. I have had some smaller but nothing over 65 lbs.

Just be careful.. Some breeders will tell you they are mini pigs but end up being 200 + lbs.. We had that happen one time.. We had decided to get a pet mini pig so we go and buy one.. Was told he wouldnt get over 40lbs.. By the time we had rehome him (lived in the city) he was 232lbs... He was HUGE lol...
