what to do for horns?

our little doe has possibly a cracked horn, and both horns are significantly sloughed away all the way around the middles of the horns (so the bases and very tips aren't sloughed away, but the middles are). is it a parasite or deficiency of some sort? what do we need to be doing to treat and maintain her horns?
