Okay, so I put Bonnie up for sale. She's pregnant and given that I have five other pregnant does, owning a small breed seems counterproductive. So, I put her on CL and asked for $150 or trade for something. I gave some ideas like feed, hay, boer goats, a small greenhouse, or other items.

Well, I have opened the floodgates to people interested. Everything from trading dairy goats, to a guy who has a ton of stuff, to a fellow who is offering me 2 half boer kids. Evidently, barter is the Montana word for cash because apparently nobody has money. :caf

Offers on table:

2 yearling dairy goats (pending pictures)

2 half boer kids (pending pictures)

I have an offer of a laundry list of trade-able stuff.

I had two more emails with people interested. :idunno

I'm surprised. Evidently I'm in the right ballpark on price, but no one has offered cash.

Why do you feel that owning small breeds is counter productive? I haven't read all of your other posts, what other kinds of goats do you have?

So, of the trade offers what are you thinking? The boar crosses?

Well, maybe this is your chance for the boers...even half boers. Are they does or bucks, do you know?
It'd be a doeling and a buckling.

I want bigger goats for milk and meat. While NDs are milk goats, I don't feel that they're right for me. I don't need a challenge milking them.

I'm considering the boer crosses. If I wait a bit, I could get purebred boers, but I'm not partial to waiting if my girl goes to his herd. We may trade for hunting items or other items.:idunno

Bartering is famtastic as long as both parties get what they want. Figure out what you want snd go for it. Transportation is on the traders.
