I found a nice buck to bred my goat with, but it is an hours drive, so when do I bring her?

I don't want to be too late or too early and have to wait all day, she is usually in heat for 12 hours.

Are you doing a drive-by breeding or will they allow your doe to stay for a night or two?

either, I prefer a drive-by since it is kind of far, and my father has to take off from work to drive me and the goat. I only got my license last year, and I can't drive on the highway.

If she is in for only 12 hours, I would take her as soon as you notice her in heat. I drove one of mine to the buck- day 2 of 3 day heat-20 minute trip-2 mounts within 20 minutes-5 months later-twins:D

I really hope it is like that!! I have read about people putting a doe in heat with a buck only to have her refuse him!

That can certainly happen. Or you can have a buck who is a shy gentleman and prefers to mate when no one is watching, or only at night, or takes several hours to court the doe before doing his thing...not typical, but there are a few that way lol. I have a doe who was bred by AI so much before I got her that she doesn't know what to do with the buck, and she will be flirty and all over him, but as soon as he shows any interest, she runs screaming with her tail between her legs. She has to be held still for him.
