Our first kid of the season was born on the 23rd of the December. This month we should have 4-5 more does kidding, and I would like to give them their CDT shots myself because our vet clinic charges way too much for it.
I should also add that Jeffers has a New Years sale (10% off each order) and it ends today so if I can get the vaccine from there it'd be great!

Which one of these would be better to get? Or is there a different one you'd recommend?

Thanks!

The Bar vac gave all our goats nasty lumps, on every goat (kid & adults).

I haven't used the other. But I know a herd had a severe reaction and lost a bunch of goats from the essential 3 + T. Don't remember why though.

Oh no!
I heard that about the Bar Vac but wasn't so sure if it was true.

What kind/brand do you use instead?

I have never used the 3 +T. I use whatever is in stock at the store I am at. Bar Vac or Colorado Serum, some gets lumps some don't. I have a few that are prone to them more than others. I also have used Covexin 8.

I just saw a post on FB where someone lost 6 does and some kids from the 3+T vaccine last year. Another person that they lost some kids too. The vaccine was attacking lung tissue. I also discovered that the Colorado Serum vaccine that I have used was called Clostridium Perfringens Types C & D - Tetanus Toxoid and has been re-branded to 3+T. While I had no problems with it I think I would certainly avoid it now. The person that posted uses a vaccine now called Calvary 9. I have never heard of it.

I use goat vac from TSC.
Not very happy though, it didn’t have a preservative years ago, now it does.
It’s done by Colorado serum I believe.

Different than what we used years ago.
