Ridin' The Range
We have a month and 1/2 old ram lamb that was showing signs of White Muscle this morning when I turned the ewes and lambs out. The only thing that did not look like the disease was that when he was standing his back was not arched up and his head was not pulled back.
He would walk for awhile then lay down and roll. Each time he got up he stretched. When his mom walked off to join the herd he went running and hopping, then he lay down, rolled, got up and stretched.
Eventually he walked off with her eating along the way.
I just looked at him, 4 hours later, and he looks fine and is no longer acting like a lamb with White Muscle.
All I can think is that he had a tummy ache, or that a copperhead got him somewhere below the head.
