I raised pigs once before but had them butchered when the snow began to fly. This time I got some fall piglets about 10weeks or 11weeks now... We will get snow in NH off and on in a couple months and then JANUARY through March it will be 1'-3' deep. So I am 'WINTERING' Pigs without a big barn. I have a 4x8 shed they live in and want to attatch it to a 12'x20' area that has pallets for walls. Then that will have a high tunnel or 'hoop house' over it to keep snow out.
This should create a HOOP HOUSE pasture-like area with pallet walls and they can retreat and sleep in the attatched shed. I will also let them out for fresh air on days its not too cold etc... ANYONE EVER TRY THIS and got pics or cautions???
I will put a line of electric wire around interior and use a support or two inside the roofed area...
