Iā€™ve noticed a few flock sell outs on Katahdin FB groups. Usually around 10 ewes, ram and even the dog. Feed and hay has gotten so expensive, people are bailing out. Not just sheep, itā€™s everything. Friends of mine that raise dogs have a hard time selling puppies now and have scaled back.

Hang in there. When the surplus is absorbed and the dust settles, demand will be back.

Hay quality has been iffy this year but, priced up. šŸ„“. Pasture rules. Treat it well. Many selling have no pasture &/or no rain. Fertilizer bought was expensive. $$$$. Same with horses, too expensive to keep for many. Hey, some families can't feed themselves due to cost. Yet, don't want dirty hands from a garden. šŸ¤·. Many farmers who have cattle are "stuck" in all of this. Sad world today.
