Ya'll stop me!

These are about a half-hour from me. I could go pick them up instead of having them shipped.

I don't need any more chickens...I don't need any more chickens...I don't need any more chickens... I don't need....

You NEED these chickens!

Need? No, lol. Curious about them and looking at the opportunity for resale. Not sure what the demand is around here though.

I practiced serious self-control yesterday and managed NOT to contact the seller.

I'm currently working on building a flock of silkies. It's not as easy as it should be, lol. I also have my barn yard mix flock for eggs. I recently hatched some barred rocks and for the first time ever (!) I got 3 pullets and a roo. When does that ever happen? I'm pretty flush with birds right now so I definitely do not need them, lol! Want them? That's another story!

Oh, my! I hear ya. :idunno

I like the "idea" ... BUT ...I eat few eggs, give away dozens each week. Have a bunch of new hatched, plus new OP bought half grown, right now I'm looking at 10-12 new layers this fall. My roos are trained, great to alert, protect & fertilize. Soooo, I've squelched my thoughts to buy just because I don't need them. Heck, I'll have a few roo to butcher from these youngins hatched already. Realistically, why spend?

Besides, I'm not fond of the butchering. Have layers, have grow out roos to freezer fill. I'm resisting the thoughts of buying any:clap:highfive:

These buggers better taste good because they are annoyingly Stupid 😡

Torrential downpours over the past hour & it looks like I'm going to still have to do the 'round&round the coop' chase that we do most evenings. Everyone else is in the coop. Most nights I go out, make a slow circle around the edge of the pen making the 'go to bed' noise & everyone makes an orderly line straight into the coop. But not these girls! They go right to the door.... then dodge off to one side or the other & we're off 😡
Around the coop, head toward the door, dodge around.
Around the coop, head toward the door, scatter!
All over the pen, some around the coop one way, some back and forth across the pen then around the coop.
Around & around we go.....
I've got to go to work... sweat is running... I'm mad enough to leave them out for the coons... then they suddenly find the door & walk in LIKE THEY'VE DONE IT EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIVES.... WHICH THEY HAVE!

Ever notice that cats and chickens have some similar traits?
