    It does sound like mites. Broody hens are more likely to get them due to the reduced activity level and reduced bathing. Everyone and the coop will need treated asap. You will have to do a second treatment to get the survivors. I am not sure what the retreatment recommendation is for that...

    Yes it is likely hard on the livestock having a noisy flock roll into the pasture. Now that folks near me know I have more pullets I am getting asked if they can buy this or that from my flock. I don't think I want to sell any at all.

    Yup. It feels off without the normal roosting spot. I will struggle to get the hang of this new format. Most of what I have been reading has all nice folks. There are of course a few ornery mules kicking up a fuss with all the hens in the pasture.

    I made it over too. I think I will likely sit on the fence like a mugwhomp while the coop gets rebuilt. This old chicken lady don't wanna go and get stepped on.
