    My feeder project

Just made a new hay feeder for the goats, it has a nice spot for the grain as well. I think it turned out pretty well. I need to make a decent roof to put on it, I just slapped some scrap tin over it for now. here are a few pics. I used mostly scrap 2x4's. the entire job took probably 2 and a...

So, we got a goat block at TSC and put it in with the goats, they weren't sure what to do with it.. so I guess the best option is to climb on it and jump? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMLhxHmfu0I&feature=youtu.be I love these little guys, they are so much fun to watch and play with =)

    New to goats

I'm pretty new to goats as well, the learning curve isn't that bad if you are used to chickens ( I have 15 chickens with 2 broodys sitting on eggs) We have only had ours for 2 weeks, they are Boer/something small mixes, mom and dad are 90 lbs and 100 lbs respectively. We have them in a rather...

Getting a pair of goats on may 4, few questions

We have been wanting goats for a while now, Last week, my neighbor said his daughter had some kids that she needed to get rid of, and I of course could not refuse. they are a mix breed, unsure of their lineage, but they are miniature (Mom is 90 pounds, Billy is about 110) she had twins, a...

getting goats soon, lot of questions =)

only 18 sq ft for a pair! okay =) I was worried, I was planning on building at least a 20'x40' building, and was worried it wouldn't be big enough. seems like it will be way more than enough for 3 Dwarf Nigerians. their "pen" will be about 180'x 60' with their building inside it. I was...

getting goats soon, lot of questions =)

I am still thinking Dwarf Nigerian. Our winters are usually mild (in Eastern NC) I was wanting to lock them in at night, I try to be generous on space, like for my chickens, they have a coop and run that they are in all the time, except for when I am in the garden. then while I am out and...

getting goats soon, lot of questions =)

Thanks for the replies everyone =) we had been talking about ND's for quite a while, then a few weeks ago, I saw some mini nubian pictures, they are just so darn cute, the long floppy ears, and roman nose... very good looking animals. When comparing them , the Nd produces a bit more milk and/or...
