That is really good to know!- I checked Fluff this morning and one side was much fuller then the other. Do the kids always prefer to drink from one side over the other? How do I fix the lop sidedness? Do I need to put the boy up to Fluff and have him nurse from the fuller side??
Michele
Thanks! These are our first babies and we couldn't be happier! I checked on them again this morning and it seems that they are doing well. The boy is much more curious then the girl and was jumping all around! It was so cute!

Little Girl. She is much smaller then the boy- and I really happy that she is nursing well because apparently HE was stealing all the food from the inside! LOL
Little Boy~ He is really sturdy!
She was not due for 5 more days... but surprise!!!! I told myself yesterday~" Self, you need to get her in the breeding pen on the first of Aug. Just in case! "
So off I went out to the barn this a.m only to find that she kidded in the middle of the yard moments eariler! That little stinker...
We can be due date buddies!!!!:D 8/6/13
Fluff is due with her first kidding ( ours too!!) and we are beyond excited!!! I am thinking about putting her in the birthing pen on Aug. 1st ... Think that is too soon? I was planning on also putting a baby monitor in- so that I can hear what's...
He is almost a year old... I brought her to a farm that let me keep her there until they felt that she was bred. He has bred with my other doe and she is preg. with twins - and he has bred several other does at this other farm as well... with wonderful kids born.
I gave it t another shot with...
I have a N.D that was bred in March. We brought her to the Vet a couple weeks back and it was confirmed ( Via Ultra sound) that she was NOT preg. So... We bred her again last week.
My question is.. How many times would you breed a N.D before you decided that they can't get pregnant?
She is 2...
So the breeder said that she is def in heat :)- so I really hope that this time it takes.
How many attempts would you say have to happen before you start questioning the possibility that she can't get pg?
Michele
Well....... I got some good news and some bad news.. well.. maybe all good news if you think about it that way...
Anyway... here goes
Fluff is pregnant with TWINS... maybe triplets! I saw two of the babies moving all around on the screen! They pulled two other vets in the room to check it...
Today is the day!!! :D
Why oh Why did they schedule me for the last appointment of the day!!! Don't they know that I am making myself crazy here in anticipation. :barnie

:weee I know!!! So excited~ That would be awesome to get an added goat- Told twins and got trips... that is really cool!
I am going to put my bet in now....
Fluff will be carrying twins - a doe and a buck
Mable a single buck
I have 4 children and have been WRONG on the sex of EVERY ONE...
:woot I just had to share my excitement with others that would understand! LOL

Oh my goodness!! They are AWESOME!! What was the Buck's and Doe's coloring to get all these adorable babies??? And Why don't you live in MA so that I can go over there and envy them?? :love
That is what I was figuring... I need to purchase the goat with the coloring that I want because my does and this buck don't seem like they are going to give me babies with this pattern. :(
Oh well.... I'm sure that these babies from this set up will be SO adorable- It will be my first time...
I would REALLY love to have a black and white ND. We bought our first 3 ND goats last year. They have been a lot of fun despite the little stinkers escaping over the fence!- * but that is another story*
I have included a pic of the buck and the two girls that are bred- The 3rd girl ( Brown in...
UPDATE:
We did a repeat fecal... and the cocci is gone but the Giardia is out of control. The vet said that it is very uncommon to have a 3 month old goat with this high of count.. and then she proceeded to tell me to keep my distance from cleaning the barn because it is transmittable. ( I'm...
Thanks everyone... we just picked up three other friends for her... but she doesn't seem to be taking a liking to any of them. She looks SO sad! She is moping around the barn and looking for her little friend that she lost. The other does that we got were:
A 2 year old nigerian in milk
a 3...
We lost her last night. We are so unbelievably sad. This was our first experience with losing a goat.. and only had purchased her.. and one other doe less then 2 months ago. :(
Yesterday afternoon the kids were in the chicken coop and left the hatch door open... one of our baby Nigerian's ( 3 months old) got into the hatch and consumed quite a bit of cracked corn.
Fast forward to this morning... she was acting fine.. eating/drinking/playing. Then I went out to check...
