Well....... I got some good news and some bad news.. well.. maybe all good news if you think about it that way...

Anyway... here goes

Fluff is pregnant with TWINS... maybe triplets! I saw two of the babies moving all around on the screen! They pulled two other vets in the room to check it out. Everyone was really excited to see them- they said that they don't U.S goats often and this was GREAT! They said *possible* trips. :celebrate

I was finally RIGHT on the baby guessing!!!

Mable is not pregnant. yep.. NOT. I was so bummed out!!! They checked her 3 times and said.. Def. not preg. :he I called the lady that bred them and told her what they said. I also told her that I saw Mable Humping one of my other does back home and she said " THAT MEANS SHE IS IN HEAT!" She was so nice and told me to bring her down to her farm tomorrow. Bummer is that she lives an hour away.

So ... I guess it is kinda good news that we found out that she is not preg. that way we are not sitting around waiting for her babies to arrive. lol So... Here is hoping that this next round does the trick!!! :fl

So the breeder said that she is def in heat :)- so I really hope that this time it takes.

How many attempts would you say have to happen before you start questioning the possibility that she can't get pg?

There are those on here that probably can give much better advice but I will share my thoughts...
Even though many heat cyles are 3 days some goats may only have a 6 hr, 12hr , 24hr window, yet they act like they are still in heat.

We have 1 doe coco that has never taken... 2 years old 2 proven bucks, repeat breedings... NOTHING

Some of the harder "short cyclers" may need to just live with a buck for a few months to be sure.

I have ND's so they will breed year round. Some breeds are seasonal.

Hopefully someone else will have a better answer.

This might want to be put in its own thread so more people see it and the real experienced can give you some better advice. :D
