He got a revitalyte bottle with a dose of di-methox and safeguard at 4pm...he's still behaving well thank goodness...still has the poops though they may be firming up a tad...if he's still poopy at 10pm I guess I'll toss a little scour halt his way with some more revitalyte before I go to bed...
I'm REALLY NOT worried as much as confused at the moment.
The poop looks like this:
Crisco looks like this RIGHT now:
Looks on the outside (except for a dirty hiney) like his normal self to me...
Now, as far as HOW TO TREAT FOR PREVENTION...I have that down pretty well and I SUPPOSE I...
I have been FAITHFUL in my cocci prevention this year and vigilant as it has been wet, hot, and humid here since February...
Crisco, saanen buckling now has scours...pretty bad...whats going on?
No temp...
born 2/17/12
had round 1 cocci prevention (di-methox 40%) from 3/1 thru 3/5 (that was...
What about actually flax seeds? I have a friend that grinds them in a coffee grinder thingy, and gives a TINY amount to her horses daily this time of year to make 'em shiny...she buys a GINORMOUS bag and always offers to share....should I take her up on it this year? Would that be beneficial...
Nope...sounds about like my girls :) Lucy kidded...not much discharge...then almost a week and a half later she was NASTY in the rear for a couple days...and every time I went in the boy pen my dwarf buck would SLIDE out the gate to go moon at her through her fence :) It drove me nuts for a few...
Thank you :) She still needs to put a little more weight....I was going to let her dry up, but DANG! She practically milks HERSELF and is giving me about 6lbs a day...for a FF who went through so much...I'll take that 6lbs and be joyful :) I know next year she'll do me better, and if we can...
I'm hoping so...here he is post trim....and bath...LOOK AT THAT TAIL!
I THOUGHT I placed an order at Jeffers last month...and then got sidetracked and forgot about it...when i realized nothing ever came, I also realized I NEVER SUBMITTED IT!! :he Of course....it's like me an emails...shiny...
WEll...it's be almost 2 months and I think my Lucy Goosey is starting to look pretty sharp...not perfect...but MUCH BETTER ALREADY! She got a bath and a trim today - all that extra fluff was keeping her too warm already - just knocked enough off with the clippers to cool her off a tad, but...
If he would bury the trash I'd probably thank him! LOL :) The burn pile is "the trash that won't light"...I've been fighting that thing since it started raining and they lifted the ban to get it to ignite...so if Luke would just start burying trash...I'd call a truce!
I dunno...I'm a little fried in the brains after a day of bathing things outside in the sun :D
When the horses get "muck itch" we just always have used head and shoulders to clear it up...it's pretty much ALWAYS hot and humid here - so once a year I get SOMETHING with some sort of fungus that...
So...I've been out clipping goats today...being as the weather is hotter now and all...just taking it down a little, since the nights are still cool....
As I bathed (yes, bathed) and clipped each goat, all looked fine except our dwarf buck, Edan - he has the dandruff! I did him like a horse -...
So leave him a small pile of things he treasures....and pick up the rest? I can handle that....a SMALL treasure area wouldn't bother me so very much....it's the widespread mess over 10 acres of "I been looking for that" type items that kills me....
So, let him have a little of it...and if the...
First litter totals were 4, 4, and 6...2 are ....um...IDK...one is solid black, the other brown and white with a little black, and a PB California doe...I figured since I was going for meat, and the 2 "IDK" bunnies were meaty looking AND fun colors AND super tame and sweet...well..why not give...
Literally - I pick up the yard, he destroys it...I set something down...he disappears with it and I'm out there in the dark looking for things...
How do you train an LGD properly to KNOCK IT OFF AND STAY OUTTA THE BURN PILE BEFORE YOU LIGHT IT EVEN!
I swear...I have more trash IN THE YARD...
IDK...but my personal vote would be that udder coverings and such are BOUND to be a bigger PITA than separation....think about it...
Tape = sticky mess, covered in dirt and hair from being out of doors PLUS a clever kid will find a way to nibble it off, eat it, leave it hanging there half on...
Yup...my super mamas from last time gave me each 8, 7, and 9 this weekend - everybody's doing good as of tonight and BOY AM I TIRED!
I am SUPER PROUD to see that each doe has done better her second time around in numbers...and I am getting ready to put the first batch of babies in the freezer...
You're right! It is really cute, and my husband NEVER gets to name anything...of course his first suggestion is usually "Buttermilk"...I STILL don't know why...but I think we shall call him Cadbury....it is kinda cute to think of him as a "naughty cad" when gets breeding age and is less than...
