Checking-In On Herds - Post Here To Say Hello!

Wow, seeing all these updates is great! It’s making me miss my little hobby farm. We rehomed the two remaining llamas and the 10 chickens left back in 2018 and moved to a one level home on 1/2 acre. No room for livestock. Because a son & daughter-in-law moved back in with us temporarily, we now...

Using Hand Shears for a Llama

We use hand shears on our llamas. It does NOT come out very neat, but they feel better/cooler when we're finished.

    Llama with tick paralysis!

Yeah, I had seen that link too when I was trying to learn more about this disease. The rarity of information on the Net about this led me to post this here just to get the word out more to us who have/love llamas. Sweety is doing well. His fiber is starting to grow back now, so he's not quite...

    Llama with tick paralysis!

I know, we've all been told that llamas don't get ticks. Here's my (LONG) story: August 16, 2010: Monday morning Sweet Dreams (1yoM) wouldn't get up. Call University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and they say bring him in..sounds like Meningeal worm. Monday they give him an IV in...

Does anyone mix there own llama feed

We sort of mix our own. We buy the bagged llama feed from the co-op but mix in 4 grain chicken scratch in a 1:1 ratio. They love it.

    Wormer?

The farm where I bought my llamas recommended SafeGuard Equine De-wormer (25g). It contains Fenbendazole. He recommended 1/3 dose a day (for a full grown llama) for three days.

    Contest-My Pages

Thank you. I just tried all that and it's still not working. I can click on My Page and the edit page, add a new page, delete page links all come up fine. But when I click on one of those, I'm directed to a blank page that says "no such user" at the top left hand corner.

    Contest-My Pages

I was just trying to create a "My Page" but it keeps telling me that my user name is not found when I try to edit it/create it. Also, this forum's My Page looks like it is a different type than the one at BYC, is it? Or is it just because of the advertising around the BYC My Page that it seems...
