Two bucklings put in sick bay this morning. Starting a runny nose, lethargic. Noticed they both looked toooo quiet yesterday --- they were too easy to catch 😖🥴 so in a stall!! Amoxicillin will work its magic in a day or 2. They'll be tired of me by this time next week :lol: This up & down...

Tractor yesterday. :idunno :th:rolleyes: runs great -- whew! But when I engage PTO to run bush hog, it keeps reving up. Too fast, then shut down. Of course it was Sunday, so shops closed. That's a call this morning.....still good for all else to use, until we find issue. Sure need it to...

Yep probably same. Because grain amaranth is good. I'd burn that stuff. There's a gazillion seed! Grain varieties are very productive. Easy to harvest by hand as the huge seed pods are at the top and you cut it off, drop in a bucket. Grows well, little care needed, drought tolerant.

They usually have trays under wire to catch droppings. That waste is good in a garden. Ya need a lid -- they jump out :lol:

You probably have a wild variety....are the seeds black? Amaranth can be grown as seed and forage crops. It's been around a long time. Was eaten by Aztecs, that's a long time! I have seed for golden amaranth and that can be used to eat, make flour, etc. my chickens like it. But it does...

Well, in spring -- 🤔 that's july for you :hide -- you can plant some grasses, milo & sunflower to harvest seed and they won't cost so much 🤭 maybe raise some grasshoppers in the barn? Good protein. Catch, dehydrate fish...break it up to feed. I'm thinking most feed is brought in by boat...
