Thanks y'all!!
Miss Sheep aka Mary and her lambs went to my dad's friend who raises sheep and knows them well. Mary was rather quiet during her stay, talking only to her lambs when we held them. Upon her arrival and settling in (being quarantined, of course), her new owner has reported that...
Thanks y’all!! :love I’m in love with them. :love I would love to keep them but just not sure and it’d be a matter of convincing my dad though I would be financially responsible for them and I could do it. Hehe
Yes, I’m concerned for her weight as well but am slowly introducing food and amount...
The sheep had her lambs! Went out this morning, fed er and watched her for a little, no signs really. Went out an hour plus later to give fresh water to my goats and there were two lambs!!! That was fast!! No discharge, no pawing, nothing that said labor.:ep Both lambs have nursed-...
Thank y'all for your replies! We have still have not found owners. The folks we contacted were not able to locate any owners under the tag unfortunately.
Today was the first day she came down to the fence- I think she knows my routine now! - and waited while I refilled hay and fed and watered...
No worries on us keeping her. I don’t know sheep nor do I have extra room for one at the moment. Animal control did not have a place to keep her (other than the animal shelter which is only fit for dogs and cats) so she is with us. We have called the AG services to report her tag but the person...
This morning, we saw animal control trying to catch a sheep. We helped them and she is safely in one of our goat pens away from my goats.
I live in the suburbs and I don’t know anyone who has sheep. It’s not impossible for someone to have sheep- I have seen horses and plenty of chickens in...

Oh no! I'm not sure what I can add other than to agree with you and PromiseAcres. If a doe eats a kit, I usually see evidence or some part of the kit left. Usually, it's the other kits that smother the missing kit and after a few panic-y searches, I find the kit all flattened. : ( What kind of...
Those are some nice looking goats! I agree- first glance at the top photo and thought "That's a nice buck! But I thought they were both does. Maybe that's the sire." :hide:D
So glad you are enjoying them. I've got a lamancha myself- she's a sweetheart with us! Other goats... not so much...
Hi! Welcome to BYH! Congrats on the new kid! Must see photos of the little gal! It sounds like you have good shelter from the wind and cold for them. How does baby seem? Is she acting cold? If I think my babies are cold, I will put sweaters on them. Plus, I like the excuse to put sweaters on...
I would definitely keep a close eye on her since she is talking now. Watch for her getting up and down, up and down, pawing, zoned out eyes, and arching her back- all signs of labor. So excited for you ! Will be watching for updates!! :pop
