The chicken feed can absolutely cause diarrhea. It can also bloat them very easily. I would give her a ton of probiotics and hay and water only. As long as she isn't bloating and up to date on her vaccines (as long as this is what is wrong with her) she should be fine.
Also since you now see...
Hi Southern!
The pups are 12 weeks old now and all have gone to their new home except two, one we will be keeping and one my friend has purchased that we are holding for her. The pups still sleep locked up safe in the barn from about 8 pm to 6 am.
Diego never initiates it, or does it on his...
Great ideas guys, thanks for responding! The problem is that our Toli is VERY submissive, she is a bit of a scaredy cat and she won't do anything while we're there, I can set little chicks and baby goats on top of her and when we let the goats out she'll just follow them around like a good dog...
Sorry I haven't been able to update lately, BYH not working very well on my computers. Went back to work full-time and we had puppies, yearlings all gave birth, processed our piggie! LOTS going on! If anyone wants to follow our blogs we will be updating them on our website mostly from now on...
Well they are still doing it. Different goats though, seems like mostly maybe the weakest one. Toli is definitely the instigator, Diego won't do it unless she starts it, at least I have never seen him do it by himself. I am going to put up hotwire on the other pen and pen Toli in there by...
We just picked him up today from the butcher. They didn't weigh him, but we taped him at about 300 pounds live and we got back 175 pounds of meat/ wraps/ cuts. Plus we saved about 100 pounds of scraps, bones, fat, and hide for the dogs. :D
One thing you have to be careful about down here is the heat, they can get too hot quickly with those long coats. That's why I like the Anatolian in there, shortens up the coat! Though we do have one left with a long coat!
Dog is your best bet, but they do take time and training. Make sure they are raised with lots of human attention and basic commands and they will be fine companions. I have 3/4 Anatolian and 1/4 Great Pyrenees and they are wonderful with kids.
I had one doe give me quads last year, and quads again this year. Two more does gave me trips and every one else gave me twins except for one single. I too would rather have twins, that's the ideal number for me. More than that and they tend to come out smaller and weaker, less nutrients to go...
We haven't started showing yet, hopefully we will be able to this next show season. :) And hmm, the only "club" we are members of is the ADGA.
I completely understand where you are coming from. I have advertised up and down all day different prices, different types of ads etc, and just not a...
Minyette is doing great, I can't believe she gave me quads two years in a row! I think I might let her take next year off.
And we have A LOT of spots this year, I will have to get pics, we're swimming in moonspots! :D
Pretty much what we have come up with. WE NEED PASTURES! We are dry-lotted all year, all our goats are registered purebred top lines show quality Nubians and I haven't been able to sell a SINGLE boy this year yet, and they are all flashy from great lines! =( I may have to set up an electric...
