    More Hay Questions!

My goats will not eat coastal. I don't know what to feed my goats. Anyone else in TX know where I can get something different than coastal? And how do I tell if its good? All the hay I see looks dried out. I really dont know anything about hay other than my goats will not eat coastal. Thanks!

    When to breed?

Hello! First, let me say I am not planning on breeding as a regular occurrence. I got a doeling who was pregnant, and no one knew until her udder started to grow. Huckleberry was born 12/2/21. The only date you can read forward and backward and it's still the same lol. Anyway, I think I would...

    Alaskan's Journal

My little guy is just over a week. He bounces around but not on anything yet, however he does like to flirt with my dog and it's hilarious.

    Alaskan's Journal

Wow! That is awesome. I did not know you are also a Texan. What a huge change, from Texas to Alaska. And no wonder you are such a great help, having degrees in ranching. I wish I would have done that. Anyway. Thank you for always being so helpful.

    What does this behavior mean?

That is what I thought too. What he does is pretty funny, and I am so thankful he is not peeing on himself. It's like he is flirting with her but sometimes he will stomp one hoof. Which is what I thought they did when they felt threatened or something, but he clearly is not afraid of her. He is...

    What does this behavior mean?

Okay, I am going to try to describe what my kid is doing. He is a week old. I am not worried about it, I am just trying to learn about goat behavior. I have a small dog that Huckleberry (my baby male goat) likes to play with. They are about the same size. He doesn't try to head butt her...he...

When do horns start to grow?

I have a sweet kid who just turned a week old. His name is Huckleberry and I love him lol. Anyway, his mom is polled and I have no idea about his dad. So..when do horns normally start to grow? when would I notice? So far there are none. I am hoping for none. My vet said within their first week...

Baby is here... now I have a stupid question

Thank you. I love him. He is the cutest! That is what I ended up doing. I know that area is sensitive, poor girl. It appears everything has stopped. I try to clean her as she lets me. For the most part she is clean, but she does have some spots on her lets and such I would like to clean up...

    Goats with collars?

I am now the proud parent of 3 goats. A wether, a doeling and her baby she had this morning. I want to feed the wether and doeling separately now so he doesn't eat all her food. I was thinking about getting collars for them. Is there a such thing as a goat collar or do I just use a dog collar...

Guess the due date! Come on, it will be fun!

I know! I thought the same thing! I think she is done.. but what do I know. I would assume by now she would have had them all, but this is my first time with baby goats so I am really clueless. She is still a little restless but she hasn't laid down or anything.
