Ah just looked up Gem. Its a licensed fruit. Can be stored for several months before ripening by ethylene. I'd say that its a hedge against the winter diluge of Mexi Hass.
Oh my heart is sooooo sad. 7 years old. Bloat is so dangerous! I'm glad you're gonna find out for sure.
Avos take about 7 years to start to produce fruit. Yes, I guess that guy has deep pockets to wait that long!
My DD got full custody of GD when the bio father went to jail! Years later, just three years ago, SIL adopted Miss S.
Bio father is still a loser and a convicted felon.
Lets hope that is the scenario for your GD, so she settles with them, instead of her horrible mom.
A century ago, I took a meat science class. We processed all sorts of animals and the professor used a captive bolt. That thing was a beast - it blew thru their foreheads like butter. The cows, pigs and lambs. We didn't do a goat tho.
For pig processing, go to YT and look up Just a Few Acres...
I;m on a FB page where people are leaving Calif to move to other states for various reasons. Texas is huge as are the Carolinas and Tennessee. This was a funny from a person who escaped Calif:

Oh my gosh.....Poor sweet baby.
Buford - may the wrath of Bay come down on you every single day until you get it thru your thick stupid skull that you are not to play with the lambs!!!!!
That greenhouse is not available anywhere near me, per the website. I typed in my old San Jose zip code and there it was!! For $1499.99.
Its stunning!!
Lord knows I know that type of Helo that draws up water as well as the old air tankers that drop retardant. Excellent representation of the fires that the west and Canada have had.
I found a bunny nest in a newly fenced area for our new fruit trees. I stepped on the nest and the squeaking was so loud. Since bunnies are a pest and eat everything, flowers, tree trunks, veggies, etc, I tossed three of them to the Velociraptors and then left one for the puppy to learn with. I...
I used to work at a commercial bakery. 5 a.m. shift. We had huge dumpsters out back and all mis packs, mis shapen, or otherwide not perfect loaves with into them. The hog farmers would come every other day and pick up bread for $5 a dumpster.
I have two augers meant for drilling plant holes, and using a drill. On this rocky slope, we've had zero success with either size. Pick ax is what we had to use.
p.s. Not me. I no longer can swing a pick ax and not hit my leg instead.
I actually sat outside today at about 7 a.m. Its been scorching and I needed some cool weather and good thoughts. I started with my tea and then got my coffee. Listened to my two chimes and the birds. Sadly there is alot of road noise, but on Sunday's its not bad.
