I didn't even think it could be cured! I am very glad that your friend got better! Does she know where she got it? The parasite makes incredible cysts. Which is why the meat must be well done. No amount of freezing kills it... which I find fascinating. It is a fascinating and horrible...

By the way... we had bear steak last night. It was good. Sadly, has to be well done... but other than that tasted like standard roast.

Depends on what the bear has been eating. I have been told that bear that has been eating lots of salmon tastes not so great, a bit fishy. I have also been told that bear that is eating lots of berries is the best tasting. The bear I have eaten in the past, we didn't shoot, so I am not sure...

Of course I would! But nope... @Mini Horses has lost her chance! Bear is being strung up and butchered as I type! Kid #4 is doing all the work... spouse is at work.... and sadly the bear was killed a bit like @Mini Horses kills things.... as in the hide has lots of holes.
