Ha! Nope! It went down this afternoon. Sunday drop off so they have it first thing.
And I didn't do it! I had my kid drive... he is happy to slide all over.
Anyway... roads had been plowed enough that it worked just fine.
But... I looked at the weather forecast... it...
Butcher should be the same... they are almost identical in weight.
It is just with the males I have ONE clear cull... not 2.
And if I cut down to 2 males, and do not cull any girls... no way will the girls have a fair chance to get fertile eggs.
I have one female with the "wrong" color bill...
Well..... snow, snow, and more snow TODAY.
AND.... I have an appointment to get the tires swapped TOMORROW.
My car has close to bald summer tires.
If I had dropped it off at the shop yesterday, it would have been FINE. Yesterday was FINE!
I live on a mountain. A bunch of hairpins to...
Kinda!
Of the 4 males 3 stick together, and one tends to hang around the edges. Not as rear guard, but as "i don't have my act together "
So, he is the first to be eaten.
The rest... I have ZERO CLEAR CULLS!!!!!! If they didn't cost so much to feed, I would eat only that 1 pathetic...
I can't imagine an ice box being any better than a quality cooler with a bunch of ice.
But.... the modern day appliances... they are great until they stop working... then full on palpitations with what the cost to replace or repair.
The not being able to buy anything over the counter any more.... hugely upsetting.
I am glad you had stuff, i am glad they are better. But wow, frustrating on the tractor.
I wonder if there is any hope that Moses will start to wander with the flock?
Or maybe no, since he will follow...
:hit :barnie:barnie:sick:hit
I FINALLY forced myself to call the plow guy.
:tongue:barnie:hit:sick
So... all set up for the winter... he will plow us and the church and the rentals.
AND I asked him to look over the 1 truly horrid spot over on the church driveway. Years back when I had...
Geese are running around like crazy
They are always nuts, the smallest thing will set them off... but 1. They were not let out yesterday, and 2. They can't find anything good to forage. Last night we got our second light dusting of snow.
We have a huge swath just north of Anchorage that grows grass hay, oats, barley, potatoes and carrots. That is about it for large production.
There are a bunch of high tunnels around towns down here on the peninsula that grow asparagus, all sorts of greens, root crops, etc. But those are...
Now that grass is dead....
I can't decide about the geese.
How many to kill, how many to keep... feeding a huge flock pellets all winter is a painful hunk of money... but the more I eat, and the smaller the flock, the more susceptible they are to predation.
We are still letting them out...
