I feed my horses alfalfa and I'm looking to get a llama to add to the herd mostly for predator alerting/protection. Is it okay feed them a portion in alfalfa? I'm fine with buying special hay but I'm sure they will get into the horses food as well. I have heard a lot of "bad stuff" about feeding...
I might be losing my mind but I swear I just saw my weather...well half weather....try to nurse and he hasn't done that in almost a year. I wonder if she is getting milk. I moved her to her own pen just to be on the safe side.
I took him back to the breeder for disbudding and they did banding then as well. He was under a week old....
I was pretty new to the process and really have thought nothing of it until now. I'm sick to my stomach that I allowed this to possibly happen.
I have a doe that gave birth last spring, I kept her one kid and made him a weather (banding) I checked often after the procedure was completed to make sure it took and everything looked fine. His testicles fell off and I thought nothing of it until last night. He has always been playful but he...
I have my first goat due in June and I have been doing a lot of thinking about the Henry Milker. Anyone have experience? Since its quite a bit of money and it is my first goat I don't want to spend more than I should right off, but if its a good investment I might see what I can figure out...
How exciting! Where in Idaho? Nice to have someone close to talk to. Best luck with your babies! So h have THREE does due? Are they all first time mommy's?
Mine is also tender, Of course some cuts are more tough than others but that's the nature of the cow. This was my first time w/ a grass fed cow and it was amazing. I need to get my pasture set up to raise my own.
This is my first dairy goat experience, her original due date was April 10th, but last month see started acting like she was in heat so I took her back to have her bred again. She is a first time mommy and from what I have read, she may have already been bred the first time and some just show...
My co-worker raises and breeds pigs, she told me that horses HATE pigs and they can't co-exist. I would love to raise a pig (for eating) but planned on free ranging it in the pasture (giving grain also). If what she said is true I would need another plan. So can anyone answer my dumb question?
ksalvagno,
Do you like the nigerian dwarf's? I know a lady who is also selling one of those but I couldn't find as much on the breed where people said positive things, maybe I am just in the wrong section.
Doe for sale on CL, is a oberhasli/alpine cross bred to a sannen. All I want is a good milk goat. Can anyone lend advice on this mix? And the potential offspring?
