    GOANNA took Drake

A week ago (1 Feb 2025) a large goanna spooked my guineas, and later at "feed time", I heard them in a very high tree, higher than they have ever "roosted". They came home that night and I penned them, and closed the high trap door, that they and the peafowl also use. The next day I saw the...

The journey into the abyss of no return

When you say "heat sealed" does that mean that from rendering, it is poured hot, into the jars : )

The journey into the abyss of no return

How long will the fat last in a jar on the shelf? I guess the jar will be steralised, and once opened, it will last a while in the fridge?

Thank you for your insight into how good geese are to keep ... I've often considered having them. However, I would need to free-range them because of the other birds; their accommodation is becoming chaotic with 2 peafowl, 3 guineas (which I will free range soon), two chooks, and indian runner...

    Mini donkeys 11 months

Wow" thank you that is valuable information for me. Trimming hoofs every 6 - 8 weeks is quite high maintenance in my book, and it is quite a risk to having them trample young birds : ( Thanks again for your honest opinion : )

Wow! funny how selective they are. The wallabies here are the same, only certain flowers and trees, and they leave the rest. Wondered where my nasturtiums disappeared to (thought they just perished ) Happy farming : )

Thank you, you must have a large property with paddocks? It would be good to have some here, but they will get into my garden (I'm an avid gardener), and devastate it. The wallabies are eating my new plants, and this is a worry!

    NEW TO THE "HERD"

Hi Fuzzy, nice looking "chook" : ) I have also comtemplated getting some pigmy goats, but that would mean that we have to fence off our gardens, which will not look too good here : )
