    problems with a baby belly

problems with a baby belly..... I just bought home a 3 month old baby doe, a boer cross, a few days ago and I am worried her belly seems way too round. Like she is a basketball with stick legs and a scrawny neck and tiny head. Her belly is hard as well but I can see her hips and spine. The prev...

Don't tell ME that CAE is "no big deal"

And about burying the pigs alive, that is horrible. I couldn't resist looking down to the 50lbs pig sleeping at my feet and waking her up to give her some of my pretzels and remind her not all little pigs are so lucky as her, and I'm not talking about her matching PJ's:hugs

Don't tell ME that CAE is "no big deal"

this is probably going to sound really stupid but how about neutering and spaying CAE positive goats IF it is shown to only pass through breeding. Weathers make nice pets, would a spayed female (if that even has a name or can be done) be a good pet? Or even giving a female birth control so she...

Don't tell ME that CAE is "no big deal"

    Alternatives to expensive milking supplies

I only have one small goat to milk so I use the glass canning jars with a stainless steel flour sifter screen over it, the one with the really fine mesh. I like the jars because when I am finished milking I can screw the lid on right away.

Trimming hooves for the first time

I have questions about trimming. I 've only had my 2 adult goat and one sheep for a few months, and their hooves were inbad shape, looking like the prev. owner never did it regularly. I have been trying to do a little bit at a time to trim them down and it looks like that is working but I had a...

Let's Look at our Different Feeding Practices *SHEEP*

not sure if this is right so I am open to opinions. I have one weather barbados (sp?) sheep almost 1 yr old. He runs around my 3 acre farm with three goats to play with so he probaly doesn't even know he is a sheep. He grazes on weeds, bushes and regular grass all day and doesn't drink much even...

    Newbie Question.....

How bad would it be health wise to feed the goats pellet Dumar sheep feed (non medicated ) instead of the dumar pellet goat feed other than a lack of copper? I have one sheep and I bought a whole bag for him not realizing I only needed to feed him a small handfull of it everyday. I have two...
