We get a feed from a local feed store they mix it for me. And honestly my husband ordered it the first time.based on the feed a good friend feeds her goats. Will have to check the ratio on it. Thank you!
A older gentleman friend of ours gave us a five gallon bucket of soybeans and corn..the spillovers from the elevator. We put it out for a doe (deer) on our property. I was told the soy had to much protein for my goats. (Boer and Pygmy) is this true? He wants to get me more to help with my cost...
Thank you. So far mating isn't in the plan. We with have two bucks of different breeds for the next 6 months... and in Jan/ Feb it will be a third breed. She is strictly showing them. And I won't crossbreed. I know the smell will bug us if it gets bad...and I will look for those deep treys...
I am copying and pasting this below, I wrote it earlier. I did not realize there was a forum on here for mules....
I am not sure where to post this, so I am posting here. My husband was told that mules and donkeys make good guardians. We have a connection to mini mules that need a new home...
I am not sure where to post this, so I am posting here. My husband was told that mules and donkeys make good guardians. We have a connection to mini mules that need a new home. They would live with our goats, Boer and Pygmy. The mule actually pull carts so would be awesome fun pets....now I...
Well, I introduced myself on another part of the board, will explain I have chickens, goats, and will be up to two bunnies within the next two weeks and 4 by February. At this point w plan to house them inside our house. We have the one bunny in the house at this point. Which is no big deal...
We have a pet class mixed breed buck. We are getting a Holland lop buck later this week or next with papers. We just started this bunny adventure and in the winter spring are also planning to get some mini lop bunnies. These are for 4-h. Just looking for information and links on these bunnies.
I had to laugh cause the chickens we had in the past used to do the same. :) THese new ones don't care. :)
Thanks for all the input. Now just to decide if I go for it or not..I have a few ideas of what to do with them if I do. :)
These answers gave me.more questions. Lol. First off I will say i honestly have no idea what kind of ducks he has. And will have to find out.
. we have a creek at the back of our property and we have a drain ditch that runs thru. Usually both are full of water. If they have water there and...
I have the opportunity to get some ducks from a local breeder friend. He raises all his poultry free-range. I rend to keesoonne in a pen..but I am toying with the idea of letting them free range and hour or so before dark.
I have one 20x20 pen that can be made larger.. but at this point we...
ok..well I thought they were vaccinated against this..
Also before I even dewormed I went over everything with the guy I got her from. And I wormed the others because of exposure to her. I also talked to two other goat farmers in the area. I am trying to make the best decisions here I can...
update...
I gave her the dewormer...and she has sores on her mouth. :( So I googled..looked at pics and called her breeder...yes she has soremouth from everything I am finding. 4-h is in less than a month, she is no growing..still dewormed her because of this..and he said all I needed to do...
the goats have all been vaccinated for the cocci...And dewormed a few months ago. I spoke with a friend who also raises goats and she is deworming one of hers again This one is from the same breeder. So I am going to do a whole deworming. We also had a change of feed..which she said can...
OK. First off all goats are vaccinated and de-wormed.
My lil buck has recently had major bought of runny poop...he is about 6 months old. It started when he had free run of green grass and green hay. No fever... no sign of worms but thought of de-worming again. Gave him electrolytes and he...
I thought coughing at first. Husband called it choking...and it to me is almost like a cross...they do not do this except when they are feeding. We are discussing separating and clipping to fence to feed...but I need more collars first. only have 3 and have 8 goats.
I am new to this, but I know we always gave the horses their wormer orally, and when my goat friend helped with my goats he did so orally also. It is harder but I know it was safer that way. And we had to de-worm a stubborn old horse years back..so not fun..and took some time.
They are pretty bad here once it warms up..today they were mild..but there..but we had another drop in heat. I noticed last week when it was warm that they were on the dogs and the goats. I anticipate that as it gets hotter they will be all over the goats too. I was in the pen for a while...
